Floyd Lee Cobb
August 14, 1954 - August 6, 2023
Floyd Lee Cobb was born a tiny little 3-pound bundle to Floyd and Ellen Cobb on August 14, 1954, in Ponca City. He was greeted and loved by his sisters Brenda, Juanita, and Nadine and one brother Louis. Floyd's Lord and Savior called him to his heavenly home on August 6, 2023.
Floyd attended local schools. At age 19, he worked at Ponca City Hospital where he met and married a cute coworker named Connie Ake. His marriage to Connie blessed him with two beautiful daughters Amy and Tara. He always referred to them as "my baby girls". As time passed, Floyd and Connie went their separate ways. He all ways, always put his girls first during his life.
Floyd then, being a dedicated Ponca City Fireman, decided to return to school and complete his education with many honors and degrees. He loved serving his community.
At age 38 Floyd was pursued and recruited by Intel to serve as their Fire Protection / E.H.S. manager. At that time, he relocated to Oregon. After a few years there, Floyd met a coworker named Janice Walls and they married in 1996. Together, they were fortunate enough to move to different locations in the U.S. and set up new production plants for Intel.
During their marriage, Floyd's love of life and adventuresome spirit led them on many travel excursions and camping outings. Personally, he enjoyed golf, cooking (especially chocolate cream pies), woodworking, genealogy research, writing, and rooting for his beloved OU football team.
Floyds' legacy includes his loved daughters, stepchildren, grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great step grandchildren. His writing of policies and procedures for Intel, AMD, and Mertz manufacturing. His love and caring for companion dog Avery and his beautiful cat named Beauty.
Floyd was truly "A MAN AMONG MEN" and will be greatly missed. He led by example inspiring us to be better people, wanting to love from the heart, seek God for salvation, asking for HIS mercies, and grace.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Grace Memorial Chapel on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. On Friday, August 11, 2023, all are invited to gather at the Main Fire Station on Grand Avenue to witness the ringing of the "Final Call" bell as a tribute to Floyd for his community service, and to attend his graveside service at 10 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Floyd with a donation to the local animal shelter or Fireman's Fund. For those unable to attend, condolences and memories may be shared online at www.gracememorialchapel.net.
