Louise Childress, 78, beloved Wife, Mother, Granny, and Sister, was called to her eternal resting place on September 6, 2024. She entered this world on January 22, 1946, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, born to John E. Turnbull and Rachel B. Walker Turnbull.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2024, in the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Gary Wilburn officiating, Visitation will be Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family in attendance from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Louise met the love of her life, Jim D. Childress, and they were married on May 25, 1995, in Winfield, KS and they made their home in Ponca City, OK. Louise enjoyed spoiling her granddaughter, reading, gardening, birdwatching, camping, and fishing. She also attended Northeast Baptist Church when health permitted.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Jim of the Home, daughter, Sandra Wayman and husband, Don of Kaw City, OK, one granddaughter, Shelby Wayman also of Kaw City, OK, two sisters, Shirley Hartnett and husband Michael of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Becky Cabaniss of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John Turnbull and Horace Turnbull.
