Opal Brown
February 15, 1925 - May 25, 2024

Opal Brown was born February 15, 1925, in Ponca City, and died May 25, 2024, at the home of her daughter, Linda and son-in-law Bill Stevens of Perry, OK.

Opal was the daughter of Robert Carl Musgrave and Hazel Nellie Coleman Musgrave.

Opal grew up and was educated in Ponca City. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1943. It was only recently that she moved to Perry with her daughter due to health issues.

She married her high school sweetheart George A. Brown, November 14, 1943. They had four daughters. Opal enjoyed sewing and making clothes for the girls and others. If a costume or something special needed to be made, Opal did it. She also enjoyed going places whenever she had the opportunity and telling stories of days gone by. She had an amazing memory.

She and George bowled for a number of years in the Ponca City Leagues.

After the girls got older, Opal went to work at Sears in the office and then the Buick Dealership. When she and George retired, they owned and operated Brown's Real Estate and Auction.

Opal crocheted hats for the newborns at the Ponca Hospital and the church. She also crocheted a variety of items for family and friends.

Opal's greatest joy was being with her family and her church family. She had unending love for them all, from the youngest to the oldest.

Opal was preceded in death by her loving husband George Brown; daughter Patsy Jean Martin; her parents Robert Carl and Hazel Musgrave; four sisters Thelma Coats, Velma Ealick, Delpha Cooper, Ruth Villines, a brother Robert C. Musgrave Jr.; and son-in-law Jim Golay.

She is survived by her daughters Judith A. Ritthaler (Robert) of Perry, Mary K. Goss of Ponca City, and Linda S. Stevens (Bill) of Perry; nine grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Great-Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, it was Opal's and the family's request that donations be made to Albright United Methodist Church in her memory.
