Salvador Chavez-Barragan falleció el 28 de marzo de 2026 en Ponca City, Oklahoma. Nacido el 8 de febrero de 1945 en Cotija, Michoacán, la vida de Salvador estuvo marcada por la dedicación tanto a su carrera profesional como a su amada familia.

Salvador era conocido por su inquebrantable amor hacia su familia. Le encantaba cocinar, deleitándose al preparar comidas que reuní;an a sus seres queridos, y atesoraba cada momento compartido con sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Consuelo Mendoza Doñan, y sus hijos: Salvador Chavez Mendoza, Eduardo Valencia Mendoza, Nestor Valencia Mendoza, Jose Maria Valencia Mendoza, Omar Valencia Mendoza, Manuel Mendoza, Gloria Valencia Mendoza, Maria (Nelly) Noelia Valencia Mendoza y Soila Valencia Mendoza; así; como 41 nietos, bisnietos y numerosos sobrinos.

La familia, la cocina y los momentos compartidos fueron los pilares de la vida de Salvador, reflejando a un hombre que valoraba profundamente la conexión y la unión familiar. Su presencia será extrañada, pero recordada con gran afecto por todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el 1 de abril de 2026, de 4:00 p. m. a 5:00 p. m., en la Grace Memorial Chapel. El rezo del rosario tendrá lugar a continuación, en la misma ubicación, de 6:00 p. m. a 7:00 p. m. Un servicio fúnebre para honrar la vida de Salvador se celebrará el 6 de abril de 2026, comenzando a las 10:00 a. m. en la Iglesia Católica St. Mary's, en Ponca City. El sepelio se realizará posteriormente en el cementerio Resthaven Memorial Park.

La memoria de Salvador Chavez-Barragan permanecerá para siempre en los corazones de su familia y de todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.



Salvador Chavez-Barragan passed away on March 28, 2026, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Born on February 8, 1945, in Cotija, Michoacán, Salvador's life was marked by dedication to both his career and his cherished family.

Salvador was known for his unwavering love for his family. He loved to cook, delighting in preparing meals that brought his loved ones together, and he treasured every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Consuelo Mendoza Doñan and their children Salvador Chavez Mendoza, Eduardo Valencia Mendoza, Nestor Valencia Mendoza, Jose Maria Valencia Mendoza, Omar Valencia Mendoza, Manuel Mendoza, Gloria Valencia Mendoza, Maria (Nelly) Noelia Valencia Mendoza, and Soila Valencia Mendoza, 41 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Family, cooking, and shared moments were the cornerstones of Salvador's life, reflecting a man who deeply valued connection and togetherness. His presence will be missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on April 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Grace Memorial Chapel. The rosary will follow at the same location from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service to honor Salvador's life will take place on April 6, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at St Mary's Catholic Church in Ponca City. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Salvador Chavez-Barragan's memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and all who were privileged to know him.
