George Wendell Alley
September 8, 1931 - July 26, 2024
George Wendell Alley, 92, of Ponca City, OK passed away July 26, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK. The visitation/viewing will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Trout Funeral Home and Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Resthaven Memorial Park with Pastor Joseph Highley officiating.
George was born on September 8, 1931, to Clarence Raymond and Dorothy Louise (Anderson) Alley in Ponca City and worked for Conoco and OG&E. He was enlisted in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He and Doris Darlene Covill were married on June 16th, 1951, at Sunset Baptist Church in Ponca City. While working at OG&E, they moved to Perry. They moved back to Ponca City in 2021 to be closer to family.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene of the home; sons Raymond (Vicki) Alley of Ponca City, Rickey (Danna) Alley of Ponca City, Terry (Sharon) of Ponca City; grandsons Daniel Alley of Crosby, TX, Shawn Alley of Tahlequah, OK, Jesse Alley of Ponca City, Joshua Alley of Blackwell, OK; granddaughter Eben Dewell of Ponca City. Twelve great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Vera Covill and Patricia Alley.
Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Max and Jerry Alley, grandson Stephen Alley.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Daniel Alley, Shawn Alley, Jesse Alley, Joshua Alley, Michael Dewell and Thomas Burtram.
