Jeremy Ben Zaitshik of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at his home at the age of 44 years.

Jeremy Ben Zaitshik was born on April 13, 1975, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Gene Ben and Rebecca Ruth (Richmond) Zaitshik. He grew up in Ponca City and attended First Lutheran School until the sixth grade. He completed his education in the Ponca City Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1993. Following his education he worked as various jobs before moving to Norman where he entered the University of Oklahoma. While there, he completed a bachelor of science degree in microbiology. Upon completion of his degree he began working as a research scientist for the O. U. Science and Health Research Center in Oklahoma City. In 2007 he moved to Blackwell to make his home. He attended First Lutheran Church in Ponca City. He enjoyed baking, gourmet cooking and computers. The love of his life was his dog, Masie.

He is survived by his father, Gene Zaitshik and wife Linda of Blackwell; his mother, Rebecca Winkle and husband Wayne of Ponca City; three brothers, Ethan Zaitshik of Edmond, Aaron Zaitshik of Edmond, and Skylar Zaitshik of Blackwell; four step-brothers, Joe Koehler of Edmond, and John Koehler of Edmond, Jack Winkle of Park City, Kansas, Sam Winkle of Tahlequah; and an aunt, Sondra Martin of Blackwell.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 1st in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Rev. Ned Moerbe of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in his honor with Alcoholics Anonymous in Blackwell or Ponca City in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
