Lucinda Ruthie White Tail

Lucinda Ruthie White Tail, resident of White Eagle, passed Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at her home. She was 55 years of age. 

Ruthie was born March 21, 1958 in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Neil White Tail and Abbie (Blueback) White Tail. She received her education at the Fort Sill, Oklahoma schools. She was a member of the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church. Her enjoyments included going to the casino, spending time with her grandchildren, telling stories, attending pow-wows, taking pictures and taking walks with her family. 

She is survived by her children, Abby White Tail of White Eagle, Jose Baeza Jr. of White Eagle, Ana Baeza of Ponca City, Rosa Baeza of Dallas, Texas, and Jesus Baeza of Mexico; Melinda LeClair whom she raised as a daughter. Melinda has six children; six brothers, Robert Blueback, Bronson Roughface Jr., Harry Blueback Sr., Chris Blueback Jr., Jesse LeClair Jr. and Charlie Blueback; four sisters, Rebecca Dehart, Roxanne Cornell, Jonana Farley and Gina Berryhill; nine grandchildren, Gustavo Rigal, Jesus Rigal Jr., Roberto Rea, Adriana Rigal, Hector Rigal, Arturo Rigal, Jaeden Baeza, Sebastian Baeza and Aubreyana Baeza; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Franklin White Tail and Alan “WeWe” Blueback; two sisters, Carol Sue Folks and Nelcine Warrior; one aunt, Mable Blueback; two nephews, AJ Berryhill and Harry Blueback III. 

A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday evening, November 14th and 15th at the Ponca Indian Methodist Church. A noon meal will be served on Friday, November 15th at the Ponca Tribal Affairs Building. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 15th at the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church with Pastor, Bro. Jimmy White presiding. Burial will follow in the Ponca Indian Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. 

Casket bearers are Leon Hernandez, Nolan Blueback, Brandon Roughface, Levi Martinez, Jutto Berryhill, Skylar Blueback, and Albert Primeaux. Honorary casket bearers are Bronson Roughface Jr., Simon Cornell, Eddy Clark, John Dehart, Jesus Rigal Sr., Jose Baeza Jr., Jerome West and Arthur
