Elvira Cheryl (Primeaux) Sroufe, age 66 of Ponca City, Oklahoma died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the ST. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Funeral Services will be held follow the traditional noon feast of Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Ponca Indian Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of the Grace Memorial Chapel. Friends may leave online condolences at www.gracememorialchapel.net.
Elvira Cheryl (Primeaux) Sroufe was born June 25, 1950 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Stanley and Ida Mae (Little Standing Buffalo) Primeaux. Elvira grew up in Ponca City, Oklahoma and attended schools in Ponca City. Elvira worked as a nurse's aide at different nursing home in Ponca Caity. She loved to do bead work, watch western's and raise her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons Darren Bradley Sroufe and Edmund Lee and wife Laura Sroufe both of Ponca City, Oklahoma; one sister Anna Little Raven and husband Carl Chaney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one aunt Estelline L.S. Buffalo Warrior of Ponca City; numerous first cousins (Brothers & Sisters) children of uncle Amos Primeaux and Nancy LeClair, Anthony, Craig, Roger, Minnie, Opal, Ginger, Mary children of uncle Silas (Berniece C. Ribbs) Primeaux Cleve and Laura; children of Aunt Iva L.S.B. (Lemuel Rhodd) Rhodd Douglas, Lemuel, Henry, Ben Zaitcheck, Mark Akers, Sharon Kay Dawson and Cecelia Howard; children of Estelline Warrior, Alvin, Leroy, Andy, Sim, many nieces and nephews, Grandchildren Cheryl Castulo and Dustin Kent, Juan Castulo, children of Athena Leroy, Roy, Steven Roy and Audrea.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edmund Sroufe Sr., Son Alton LeRoy, Daughters Althena Leroy, Altonya LeRoy; her parents, one brother Alton Frank Primeaux and her first husband Antoine ''TonY LeRoy.
