On Monday, August 17, 2020, Susie Overland, loving mother, grandmother, auntie, and sister passed away at St Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Susie was born February 5, 1949 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to William and Helen Overland.
Susie will be missed greatly. She was an avid OU and Thunder fan as well as a proud graduate of Chilocco Indian School. Susie enjoyed going to Bingo back in the Bingo days and going to the nono in the here and now. She was also a proud member of the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church.
Susie is survived by three children; Karla Reyes, Lana Cole, and Albert Cole all of Ponca City, six grandkids; Reagan, Elsie, and Susan “JuJu” of Ponca City, Delvia, Albert Alan Jr, and Nikius Reyes of Dallas, one brother; Andrew Overland of Oklahoma City, and two sisters; Sally Gayton of Cleveland, and Thomasine Martin of Tonkawa, several cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives.
She was preceded in death by both parents, six brothers and two sisters.
Evening Prayer Services will be held Wednesday evening at 7pm at the homestead. Graveside services will be at 2pm Thursday, August 20, 2020, at the Ponca Indian Cemetery with Pastor Jimmy White presiding.
