Kirvin Alan Murray, Sr., Kind Hearted, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at his residence. He was 53 years old.
The Traditional Meal will be at noon, Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Ponca Tribal Cultural Center. The service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Lewis Headman officiating. Burial will then follow at the Ponca Indian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Kirvin was born on October 3, 1963 to Robert LeRoy Murray, Sr. and Virginia (Giveswater) Murray in Pawnee, OK. He was raised in Red Rock, OK. Kirvin graduated from Marland High School where he was the Homecoming King, Student Council Vice-President, and he lettered in basketball with 101 rebounds and 209 points. Al worked as a carpenter/roofer and at Lowes.
He had many joys in his life; watching the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Cubs, and loved his OU Sooners. He also enjoyed NASCAR, his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He loved fishing, horseshoes, disc golf and spending time with his children.
He is survived by his mother, Virginia, 2 sisters, Lori Murray and Virene Murray; five children: Alicia Rain, Kirvin Jr., Joshua Otis, Jordan Zane, Paige Bree Murray; and his love Ellen Adams Murray.
Preceded in death by his father, Robert L., and siblings, Bob Jr., Don, Otis, Sandy, Ida Sue Murray.
Casket Bearers will be Preston Warrior, Jonathan Warrior, David Mangrum, Rusty Short, Daniel Franklin, Derek Franklin, Otter King, Garland Pappan.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Kirvin Jr., Josh Murray, Jordan Murray, Sam LeClair, Andrew Pappan, John Desjarlait, Harvey Atkins III, Grant Franklin.
