Gambler Gami Susan Martinez, resident of Norman, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the OU Medical Center. She was 46.
Gambler was born the daughter of Clarence Romine and Marilyn Louise LeRoy Standsblack on July 19, 1962 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She grew up in Ponca City and attended Ponca City Public Schools. Gambler had many enjoyments. She loved listening to oldies and Spanish music, talking on the phone, writing in her journal, and going out to eat. She also liked taking pictures of her family. Gambler liked getting out and cruising whether in her chair or in the car, she was always ready to go. She loved her family and she treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Her presence will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Rosendo L.C. Standsblack of Norman, Oklahoma and Shakira Stingley and husband, Jimmy of Woodward, Oklahoma; one brother, Clarence E. Standsblack of Gaithersburg, Maryland; two sisters, Faith L. Headman and husband, Kennis of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Anntoinette G. Tillman and husband, Frank of Fort Washakie, Wyoming; grandchildren, Kiana Standsblack and Jaden Stingley; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Emmarie Standsblack, Dawn Standsblack, Ramona Barrientos and Mingo Gutierrez; two granddaughters, Mireya Billy and Kynnedy Standsblack.
Casket bearers for the service will be Shakira Stingley, Maria Maness, Brenda Standsblack, Sweet Quiroz, Romine Billy Gutierrez, Ponca Rouillard and Roca Glover. Honorary bearers will be Rosendo Standsblack, Gayno Standsblack, Saul Standsblack, Terrence Standsblack, Gaylen Standsblack, Daniel Standsblack, Zane Standsblack, Darrell Lieghton, Eddie Tillman, Nelson Glover, Branden Standsblack and Marko Standsblack.
An evening prayer service will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2009. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center with Doug Eagle officiating. A traditional noon meal will be held before the funeral service.
