Dallas Leo Kent, resident of Blackwell, passed Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma City. He was 51 years of age. 

Dallas was born March 10, 1962 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Woodrow Kent and Inez (Clark) Kent. He was a member of the Omaha Tribe. He attended schools at Blackwell and Concho. He was married to Cindy Jenkins on April 28, 2005 in Ponca City.

Dallas was employed as a security guard at the 7 Clans Casino. He was the co-founder of the Jesus House in Oklahoma City. He was one of the main cooks for funeral meals and dancing event meals. His enjoyments were being outside with the kids, walking, cooking out and playing bingo. 

He is survived by his wife, Cindy, of the home; five children, Dallas Leo Kent Jr. of Colby, Kansas, Inez Kent of Blackwell, Jesse Kent of Blackwell, Chanyna Kent of Blackwell, and Michael Densmore and wife Sarah, of Georgia; six sisters, Nellie Roughface of Ponca City, Ava Pewewardy of Tulsa, Belle Camp and husband Craig, of Marland, Oney Roubedeaux and husband Richard, of Pawnee, and Annabelle Roy of Ponca City; six brothers, Clarkson Littlecook of Oklahoma City, Solon Kent of Tulsa, Dakota Kent of Tulsa, John Kent of Clearwater, Florida, Kenneth Kent Shearer of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jasper Clark of Pawhuska; one adopted brother, Tyrone Poore and wife Donna, of Marland; seven grandchildren, Kaya Kent, Lizabeth Phoenix Marlow-Engelhardt, Misty Ann Danielle Marlow-Engelhardt, Harlan Michelle Marlow-Engelhardt, Jayda Elizabeth Densmore, Weston Lee Kennan Densmore and Angelica Kent; numerous other nieces, nephews and other extended family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joseph Kent; four brothers, Newton Clark, David Reese, Jess Littlecook and Steve Alan Littlecook; two sisters, Bertha Abramson and Loretta Sue Kent. 

Prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church. A noon feast will be served on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. at the Ponca Indian Methodist Church. Bro. Jimmy White will preside over the service assisted by Rev. Abe Jackson and Rev. Toby Blackstar. Burial will follow in the Ponca Indian Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. 

Casket bearers are Dallas Kent Jr., Donny Chalepah, Lonnie Others, Michael Densmore, Johnny Poore and Michael Roy. Honorary casket bearers will be Dean Russell, Craig Camp, Richard Roubedeaux, Solon Kent, Dakota Kent, John Kent and Tim Jim.
