Ponca Tribal Cemetery


Jack Marvin Hernandez Jr., longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011 at his home. He was 34 years of age.

Jack was born April 26, 1976 in Ponca City, the son of Jack Marvin Hernandez Sr. and Roxanne Roughface Hernandez Cornell. He attended the Ponca City Public Schools. He was married to Amanda Smith on May 2, 2000 in Ponca City. He was employed as a CC machinist until he became disabled.

His enjoyments included skateboarding, playing video games, listening to his music and going to pool tournaments with his Aunt Nelcine and Uncle Matt. He also enjoyed playing shinny until he was no longer able to play but his sons continued to play for him. He also spent a lot of his time getting psychopathic items. His biggest enjoyment was spending time with his wife, Mandy, children, and his brother and best friend, Arlen. He was a very loving dad and husband and he loved everyone in his family.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda, of the home four children, Christianna, Baby Leon, Thomas and Monica his parents, Simon and Roxanne Cornell his siblings, Leon Hernandez, Jeffrey Hernandez, C.J. Cornell, Sarah Hernandez, Nina Hernandez, Vivian Hernandez, John Larson and Debbie Munoz.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Marvin Hernandez Sr. his grandparents, Carl and Vivian Pemberton, Bronson Roughface Sr. and Manuel and Betty Hernandez.

A noon meal will be served on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Ponca Indian Methodist Church with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
