Peggy Ann Arkeketa Harris, former resident of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 65 years of age. In loving memory of our mother, sister, auntie, niece, grandmother and great grandmother.

Peggy was born May 14, 1947 at Pawnee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Freeman Roe Arkeketa and Myrtle Roy Arkeketa. She attended the Ponca City schools. During her life she worked and raised her beloved children in the Tulsa and Oklahoma City areas. She had worked in the drycleaning industry and nursing career until she attended Drumright VoTech where she achieved her license to drive semitrucks. This career of truck driving took her too many destinations across the United States which she shared with all her children and grandchildren.

Her favorite pastimes were visiting with family and playing bingo and going to the casinos. She loved shopping at her favorite stores and traveling Route 66.

She leaves behind her six children, Debra Ann Rosborough, Michael Cutshaw, Christine Delibro, David Fox, John Dorsey Brown and Gordon Arkeketa. She leaves three brothers, Scott Lieb, Freeman Roe Arkeketa Jr. and Garland Arkeketa two sisters, Tina Youker and Marcella Morgan 14 grandchildren 1 great grandchild with one on the way and other extended family.

A graveside service will be held at noon on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Ponca Indian Cemetery with Ponca Indian Baptist Church Pastor, Clifford Springwater presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
