Arnissa Ann Blueback, resident of White Eagle, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 4, 2009 at her home. She was 38 years of age.
Arnissa was born August 11, 1970 at Pawnee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Arthur Blueback and Rena Waters Blueback. She attended the Ponca City Public Schools. Arnissa was a member of the Nazarene Church and her enjoyments included cooking, watching TV. dancing, singing, attending church, animals and most of all, enjoying the company of her family.
She is survived by her four children, Rena Ann Brown, Stillwater, Oklahoma, Daniel Kawaykla and Storm Kawaykla, both of Carnegie, Oklahoma, and Anna Alexia Howe, of Ponca City; two sisters, Pearl Margaret Blueback and Cecelia Blueback, both of Ponca City; three brothers, Kenneth Blueback, Ponca City, Charlie Blueback and McArthur Blueback, both of Denver, Colorado; five aunts, Elizabeth Waters, DeLoyce DeCorah, Deanna Rhodd, Mary Primeaux, and Mabel Blueback, all of Ponca City; one uncle, Benjamin Waters Jr., Ponca City; numerous cousins, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Prayer services will be held Thursday and Friday evening at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center. A noon meal will be served on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Cultural Center followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Louis V. Headman, pastor of the Ponca Indian Nazarene Church will preside. Interment will be in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Casket bearers are Charles Waters, Benjamin Waters, Ira Primeaux, Jay Isham, Mark Buffalohead and Earl Howe III. Honorary casket bearers are Blue Roy, Paris Roy, Charlie Waters, James Waters, Joe LeClair and Harry Chuck Blueback.
