Lois Ann Warrior
October 29, 1950 - July 4, 2024

Lois Ann LeClair Warrior, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunty, grandma, and great-grandma passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on July 4th, 2024. She was 73.

A traditional feast will take place at noon, Monday, July 8th, 2024, at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center in White Eagle, OK with services to follow at the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church.

Lois was born on October 29th, 1950 in Pawnee, OK to Elsie Green and Leo LeClair. Later in her younger years she was raised by her second parents Bill and Ruby Kaulaity. She is one of seven siblings. She grew up in Ponca City, OK and is a citizen of the Ponca Tribe and a descendant of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Oklahoma. Lois attended Concho Indian Boarding School and then attended Chilocco Indian Agricultural School where she graduated 1969. In 1967, she met the love of her life, Gordon Warrior and they later married on July, 16th 1969 in Enid, OK. They are high school sweethearts.

She worked many years as a dental assistant and contract health specialist for Indian Health Service. Lois enjoyed many activities that included playing softball, bowling, pool, bingo, slot machines, going to garage sales, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Oklahoma City Thunder and tennis. She was a state champion in slow-pitch softball in 1975. She was also a member of the Ponca Indian Methodist Church. She loved to sing tribal hymns, pow wow songs, and was also a keen whistler.

Lois is survived by her husband; Gordon Warrior of Tonkawa, OK, daughter Hauli Sioux Gray & Cecil Gray of Yukon, OK, Dahni Nicole Crews & Bobby Crews of Tonkawa, OK, Breahna De'von Warrior, Ponca City, OK , and sons Wesley Gaines of Marland, OK, Vicente Dwight Warrior, Tonkawa, OK, her sisters Susan Primeaux of Oklahoma City, OK, Debby Kovanda & Reese Kovanda, of Lebanon, MS. She is also survived by 15 grand children and 17 great-children and good friends Karen Littlecook of Ponca City, OK and Thomasine Martin of Tonkawa, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Anecia Evon Warrior, and three sons Dwight, Dwayne, and Brandon Warrior; sisters Louise Jackson of Eugene, OR, Joyce Williams of Oklahoma City, OK; brothers Enos Primeaux of Ponca City, OK, George Primeaux of Ponca City, OK, Benjamin Michael LeClair of Marland, OK.
