Richard Roy
February 6, 1978 - September 29, 2025
Richard Roy, a devoted brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on September 29, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 47. Following the noon feast, a funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center. Burial will immediately follow at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Richard was born in Claremore, Oklahoma, on February 2, 1978, to Spencer Roy and Lenora Mae Snell. He dedicated his professional life to support tech work, a field where he was known for his diligence and strong work ethic. In fact, his mom always described him as a "workaholic."
Richard's true passion extended far beyond his career. He was a thoughtful man with a kind-hearted nature who always put others before himself. His personal life was rich with hobbies, including artwork, being an artist, and a genuine love for drawing. Richard had a unique gift in beadwork and was well known by many for his skilled beadwork. He enjoyed working and restoring cars, and most importantly, catered to, and spent time on activities with his family.
Richard is survived by his sisters, Roberta Roy, and Stephanie Bills, brother, Ronnie Harjo, nephews: Jevon Roy, Jamison Smith, Jesus Quinonez, Stacey Roy, one niece, Tina Potts, and one granddaughter, Dalian Ortiz., and loving partner Daneta Kauley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer Roy and Lenora Snell, and one brother, Russell Roy.
Richard's spirit will be remembered for his steadfast commitment to his family and his generous, kind nature. His legacy is one of hard work and unconditional love.
