Walter Marion Rosborough
January 16, 1931 - February 4, 2025

Walter Marion Rosborough, 94, a cherished father, grandfather, and community servant, passed away on February 4, 2025, at his home in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Born on January 16, 1931, to Marion and Mabel (Bosner) Rosborough, Walter lived a life that was both vibrant and impactful, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Walter was employed at ConocoPhillips, where his work ethic and commitment allowed him not only to retire but later return to contribute once more. He also found fulfillment as an Assistant Teacher for the Welding and Machine Shop Department at Pioneer Vo-Tech, shaping the minds of a new generation. His tenacity did not cease there; he spent many years working at Joe Steichen's Silvertop Ranch. Further reflecting his passion for youth engagement and sports, Walter devoted numerous hours coaching the Girls Volleyball team in Ponca City, a role he relished and took great pride in.

He was known for his unwavering desire to help others whenever possible and was described as a wonderful father and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening and any kind of sport. Walter was notably proud of having worked with the University of Oklahoma as an archaeologist and he discovered a mammoth bone that now rests in Norman, Oklahoma, a testament to his keen sense of discovery and love for the past.

Walter's warm presence will forever be cherished by his children, brother, grandchildren, and numerous others who loved him deeply. His legacy lives on in their hearts, reminding them of his kindness, resilience, and unwavering support.

His beloved wife, Vinola (Cerre) Rosborough, along with his parents and many other relatives, have welcomed him into eternal peace, and it is with profound sorrow yet warmth of remembrance that we bid farewell to a remarkable man whose life was a true testament to love, service, and dedication.

Funeral services for Walter will take place on Friday, February 14, 2025, 2 p.m., at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Walter Marion Rosborough, please visit our flower store.
