Thomas Jay Pappan, Sr.
October 9, 1938 - June 4, 2024

Thomas Jay Pappan, Sr. age 85, was called home on June 4, 2024. Thomas is a proud member of the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma and was born on October 9, 1938 to Leland Pappan Sr. & Bessie Raise the Others Pappan in Pawnee, OK. He was a graduate of Ponca City High School and later joined the Army in 1961, while in the Army he was stationed in Paris, France and honorably discharged in 1963.

Thomas married Marie Hinman in 1974 and had 3 children; Thomas, Jr., Deforrest and Lillian. He enjoyed spending his time with family & friends, watching Po-Hi football, OU athletics, and OKC Thunder Basketball, having cookouts and playing horseshoes. Thomas will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

His survivors include his 3 children of Ponca City, grandchildren Lonnie, Clinton, Christian, Taylor, Gabriel, Illyce, Jayla, Thomas III, Great-grandchildren Nevaeh, Tiara, Darin, Alyssa, Alayna, Lexington, Lanie, Gracie, Ki, Karter, Briseis, and Baker, Great-Great Grandchildren, Essiah and Maylin. Also numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marie Hinman Pappan, daughter Darlene, granddaughter Teeana, his parents, brothers Garland Pappan, Amarbe Pappan, Leland Pappan Jr., and his sisters Molly (Amy) Eagle, Lillian Eagle.
