Fannie "Mí Wasà" Littlecook Deere
February 10, 1928 - February 14, 2025
She was the daughter of David and Marion Pappan Littlecook, born February 10, 1928, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Survived by Lloyd Deere of Norman, Ok, Sammy Anderson of Macy, NE, Eugene Cameron of Wichita, KS, two daughters Denise Espenoza of Austin, TX and Linda Bell of Wellston, Ok. Preceded in death by four brothers Warren Littlecook, Amos Littlecook, Moran Littlecook, Floyd Littlecook and one sister Helen Littlecook, one son Dean Albert Deere and one daughter Valerie Jolene Deere. Ten grandchildren Adina Deere, Delana Deere, Angelina Deere, Karena Deere, Deana Deere all of Norman, Ok, Shawneen Deere of Oklahoma City, Sara Johnson of Wewoka, Ok, Sara Collins of Austin, Tx, Amber Bell of Guthrie, Ok, and Rober Bell of Edmond, Ok, twenty-two great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was raised in Ponca City, where she attended grade school at the Pawnee Indian School and graduated from Chilocco in 1947. She resided in Wichita, Kansas from 1955-1994 where she worked at a petroleum company cleaning offices. She also worked as an elder caregiver until she moved back to Ponca City. She was a member of the Westside Nazarene church of Wichita where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and served as a nursery teacher. In 2015, she moved to Tecumseh, Oklahoma to be near her eldest son and grandkids and attended Cornerstone Indian Baptist Church in Norman, Oklahoma.
She enjoyed tribal singing, speaking her Ponca language, telling old stories, eating Chinese food and chicken, thrift shopping, and attending pow-wows. Her favorite time was being around her immediate family, nieces and nephews. She was blessed with a good long life and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and relatives.
