January 24, 1939 - July 26, 2020

Clara Dee Wilson Wilkerson, resident of Ponca City, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, July 26, 2020. She was 81 years old.

A funeral ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Northeast Baptist Church, 2200 Pecan Road, with Dr. Larry Nigh officiating. The ceremony will be streamed live on the church's website. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Clara was born on January 24, 1939 in Ponca City to Fred and Willie Wilson. She was raised on a farm south of town.

Clara married Don, her high school sweetheart, the day after she turned 18, on January 25, 1957. They were happily married for 55 years, until his passing in 2012.

After they started their family in Texas and moved back to Oklahoma, she worked on the farm raising her three daughters and one son. She loved doing ceramics, baking, sewing and teaching Sunday School for more than 40 years. Clara and Don were members of Northeast Baptist Church for 48 years. She also served on the hospitality committee. She loved ministering to people through her cooking, so her cooking, came out of love. You would be hard pressed to find someone in her church, that has not been a recipient of her cooking!

Clara loved living on the farm and taking care of the animals. Peacocks, ducks, chickens, goats and cows were among her favorite. As much as she loved the animals, she loved her family even more. Family gatherings and spending time with the grandkids always put a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face.

Clara is survived by two daughters, Susan Womble and husband David of Ponca City, OK and Sandy Black and husband Bill of Lone Grove, OK, one son, Dejon Nygard of Las Vegas, NV and a son-in-law, Larry Cloudd of Ponca City. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Jason Green, Brian Womble, Michael Cloudd, Abby Black, Anna Black and Dawson Nygard as well as five great-grandchildren: Emily Womble, Brennen, Hannah, and Lexi Green, and Isabel Walls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, her daughter, Stacy Cloudd and her parents, Fred and Willie Wilson.

Clara has many extended family and friends which include: Jeff and Meredith Mott and family, Chris Hocevar, Mike and Maggie Cook and family, Chris Womble and family and Damon Womble and family.

Casketbearers will be: Rick Anderson, Rodger Cline, Julian Ford, Don Fore, Mark Klinger, and Rene Rodriguez.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Ministry at Northeast Baptist Church.
