Roy Wilson
December 3, 1941 - April 27, 2025
Roy James Wilson, 83 of Ponca City, went peacefully to be with the Lord on April 27th surrounded by family.
Roy was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on December 3, 1941, to Lamona and Coyd Wilson. He spent his childhood in Ponca City, fishing and hunting with his father and older brother, Ronald. He played baseball as third baseman and was a member of 2 separate state championship teams.
He met Jane, the love of his life in 1955. They were married in Ponca City on June 9, 1961, where they raised their 2 children.
Roy served in the Army from 1959 to 1961 before transferring to the National Guard until 1963.
He then began working at Conoco until his retirement in 1996. In retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling with his wife.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Coyd and Lamona, and his brother Ronald.
He is survived by his wife Jane, daughter Tina Stanton (Keith), son Jeff Wilson (Lyndi), grandson Justin Stanton (Kara), granddaughters Lydia Stanton-Roark (Nic Don), Jackie Stanton-Haese (AJ), and Sabrina Wilson, great grandsons Bryte, Grayson, Raphe, and Ruston, great granddaughter Emmie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Grace Memorial Tuesday, April 29th from 3 to 7pm. The family will be present from 4-6pm. Services will be held at Northeast Baptist on Wednesday, April 30th at 2pm. A burial service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Northeast Baptist and Hospice of North Central Oklahoma.
