March 2, 1942 - March 16, 2026
William "Bill" Willard Walker, 84, of Ponca City, OK, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026. Viewing will be between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Thursday, March 19, 2026. A Graveside Ceremony will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, March 20, 2026, at IOOF Cemetery, 1206 S Waverly St, Ponca City, OK, 74601. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
Bill was born on Monday, March 2, 1942, in Fairfax, OK, to Willard Wendell Walker and Clara Marie (Young) Cox. He graduated from Fairfax High School in 1960. He then graduated from the Ponca City Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. Bill was a US Air Force veteran, serving during Vietnam as a Flight Nurse, and also served as a triage nurse for the severely wounded in the Philippines. After his enlistment, he worked as an ER Nurse, and other nursing positions for the Veterans Administration. He also earned a Master's Degree in Health Care Management from the University of Oklahoma.
Bill is survived by: his sisters, Sherral Creek of Tulsa, OK, Rebecca Ramsey of Springfield, MO; brothers, Gabe Bonham of Tulsa, OK, and Thomas Whitebeaver of Ponca City, OK; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by: his mother, Marie Cox; maternal grandparents Dewey and Clara (Tiny) Young; and Lifelong partner of 54 years, Harvey Mashburn.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Ingram, Dale Kelley II, Dale Kelley III, Chase Kelley, Joseph Smith and Harley Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Whitebeaver, Gabe Bonham, Aaron Bonham, Merl Bonham and Scott Ingram.
The family would like to thank the staff and friends at The Renaissance of Ponca City that helped care for Bill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
