January 19, 1931 - March 10, 2024
Dorothy Jane Vanover, 93, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on March 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. No viewing is scheduled. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 15, 2024, at Northeast Baptist Church with Rev Scott Melton officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
Dorothy was born on January 19, 1931, in Ponca City, OK, to Claude and Maude (Hunter) Austin. She married Roger James Vanover on June 24, 1950, in Ponca City. Dorothy was an artist and former member of the Ponca City Art Association. She was also a charter member of Northeast Baptist Church and was the pianist for a time. She loved traveling, especially to the mountains, and also loved Braum's ice cream
Dorothy is survived by: her children, Patty Burnham of Aurora, CO, Jim Vanover or Ringwood, OK, Bruce Vanover of Ponca City, OK and Alan Vanover of Ponca City, OK; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by: her husband, Roger; parents, Claude and Maude Austin; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Pallbearers will be: Alan Vanover Jr., Keith Garrett, Stacey Lanius, Kaylee Vanover, Zackary Lanius, and Todd Vanover.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8400 Silver Crossing, Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
