Chleora Catherine Stewart, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Shawn Manor Nursing Home. She was 92 years of age.
Chleora was born July 25, 1918 at Leon, Kansas, the daughter of Edward V. Campbell and Eva Marie Teatsorth Campbell. She moved with her family to Ponca City at the age of 12. She was a 1936 graduate of Ponca City High School and attended the Botts Business School. She was married to Virgil R. Stewart on June 1, 1940 in Ponca City.
Chleora was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Ponca City and was very active in various church activities. She was a member of the Friendly Class, the Dorcus Group and the Allsew Ladies Club. She was on the board of Meals on Wheels and helped with serving the Friendship Feast. Her other enjoyments included her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, handwork and visiting with friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicky Dronberger and husband, Dennis, of Lamont, Oklahoma 1 brother, John Campbell and wife, Jerry, of San Antonio, Texas three grandchildren, Jerry Dronberger, Deana McMasters and Jason Dronberger 2 great grandchildren, Nathan and Christian McMasters. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband and one brother, Herbert Campbell.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Rev. Larry Metzger, Pastor of the First Christian Church presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
