March 29, 1977 - May 6, 2020
Michael David Spears, resident of Ponca City, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. He was 43 years old. A graveside ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 2:00pm at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Those wishing to say their good-byes may do so on Monday and Tuesday, May 11th and 12th from 8am to 8pm at Trout Funeral Home.
Michael was born on March 29, 1977 in Ponca City to his parents, David and Karen (Erwin) Spears. He grew up in the Ponca City area graduating from Po Hi as part of the Class of 1995. Michael enjoyed anything and everything mechanical. He enjoyed fixing things and could tear anything apart and build it back again. Motocross was a big part of Michael’s life as he enjoyed competing in races and riding hard. Michael found peace in being outdoors whether it was hunting and fishing, boating, or training horses.
He is survived by his parents, David and Karen Spears, brother, Jerrod and wife Devinn and their daughter, Cameryn of Norman, OK, children, Bret Spears of Norman, OK, Blake Spears of Ponca City, Matthew Spears of Ponca City, Gage Spears of Ponca City, and Dillynn Ball of Ponca City, significant other, Leslie Helms and her children, Hannah and Alyssa and her grandson, Kayson, grandfather, Duane and wife Linda Erwin of Del City, OK, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his faithful companion, his dog, Slag.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Mary Spears and Nanny Gen Erwin.
