March 31, 1939 - May 19, 2022

Marla Annette (Roberts) Schauf went to be with her savior on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family, after an extended illness.

Marla was born on March 31, 1939, in Durant, Oklahoma to James and Mildred (Jenkins) Roberts. After the death of her father in WW2, her family moved to Denison, TX, where she spent her younger years. She graduated from Denison High School in 1957.

In August 1957 she married Donald Toothman in Denison, TX. To this marriage four children were born, Jimmy Don, Lisa Lavon, Michael Russ, and Tina Michelle. In time the family moved to Pawnee, OK, where all the children graduated from high school.

In September 1984 she married Frank Schauf in Colbert, OK. The spent their 1st year of marriage in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where Frank was working. After leaving Riyadh they lived in many places, due to Frank's work, including Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Illinois. When Frank retired, they moved to Ponca City, OK where they still reside. Frank had told her when he proposed to her that she was marrying a gypsy and that she would never go hungry or have to work but also to never plant her roots too deep. He was a man of his words.

Marla is preceded in death by her father James Roberts, mother and stepfather Mildred and Marshall Lutrick, stepson Frank Schauf Jr, and son-in-law Jim Rosholt.

She is survived by her husband, Frank of the home, son Jim Toothman of Tonkawa, daughter Lisa Rosholt of Tonkawa, son Mike Toothman and Kerry of Tonkawa and daughter Tina LaBlue and Jay of Tonkawa, grandchildren: Dondi Rowe and her husband Casey, Jason Andrews, Mike'a Payne and her husband Nick, Bradon Toothman and his wife Paige, Taylor Toothman, Russ Toothman and his wife Tatianna, Regan Toothman and Tyler, Matthew Ingmire, Stoney Toothman, Gabby Schauf, and Bobby Schauf, great grandchildren: Kayleigh Payne, Nixon Payne, Aftyn Payne, Alayna Toothman, Addison Toothman, Eli Ingmire, Lily Toothman, Colton Toothman, Ivy Toothman, Xander McLain, and Carter McLain, sister and brother-in-law Gloria & John Unerfusser of Denison, TX, sister in-law- Connie Farnam of Ponca City, OK, many cousins, nieces and nephews and her loving dog GiGi.

Friends are welcome to stop by Grace Memorial Chapel and pay their respects on Tuesday (5/24) and Wednesday (5/25) from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Her service, under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel, will be held at the pavilion at I.O.O.F Cemetery in Ponca City at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022. Casket bearers for the service include her grandsons Braden Toothman, Taylor Toothman, Stoney Toothman, Mathew Ingmire, Bobby Schauf and Casey Rowe. Honorary bearers are grandsons Jason Andrews and Russ Toothman.
