Mary J. Russell Funeral Thursday
Mrs. Mary Jane Russell, 91, a former resident of Marland and Ponca City, died Monday in a Caldwell, Kan., hospital, following a long illness.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Gill-Lessert Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Masters, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mrs. Russell was born March 3, 1883 in Iowa and at an early age she came to Oklahoma, living in the Marland community. She moved to Ponca City in the early 1940's.
Surviving her are seven daughters, Mrs. Ethel Spoon, Lamont, Mrs. Hazel Daniels, Point of Rocks, Wyo., Mrs Emma Zubanich, Albany, Ga., Mrs. Hilda Miller and Mrs. Grace Britcher, Route 3, and Mrs. Bertha Peck and Blanche Russell, Oklahoma City, and many grandchildren, including Mary Ann Wehrle of Ponca City and John L. Welch of Oklahoma City, who were reared by Mrs. Russell.
She was preceded in death by 4 daughters, two sons, three brothers and 5 sisters.
The family will be at the Britcher residence on Route 3.
