Lola Mae Romary passed away on July 17, 2019 in Caldwell, Idaho at the age of 86. She was born to Harry and Bertha Edith (Brown) Griffen on August 15, 1932 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Lola Grew up in Ponca City, graduating in 1950 from PoHi. On October 15, 1951 she joined her high school sweetheart, Arthur Romary, in marriage. Together they raised three children; Sharon, Rick and Debbie. Lola and Arthur celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary before he passed away, January 10, 2001. Years after Arthur’s passing Lola moved to be near her daughter Debbie; first to Georgia, then later to Idaho.
Lola enjoyed to crotchet everything; afghans, baby blankets even towels. She also found enjoyment watching gospel groups like the Gaithers as well as game shows and Law and Order. Lola also enjoyed completing crossword puzzles. Lola also read lots of books; from romances to crime investigations.
Left to mourn her passing are her children; Sharon Rorabough of Phoenix, Arizona, Rick and his wife, Mickey Romary of Edmond, Oklahoma and Debbie and her husband, Donald Mason of Caldwell, Idaho, siblings; Travis Griffen of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Ruby Bechtel of Ponca City, Oklahoma, three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Romary, Parents; Harry and Bertha Griffen, brother; Paul Griffen and nephew, Stan Bechtel.
Graveside services are scheduled in Lola’s honor for 10am, Friday, July 26, 2019, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Ponca City with Reverend Ron McCormick presiding. Visitation will be Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Grace memorial Chapel from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
