Ponca City I O O F Cemetery

Geretta Quinn
November 4, 1934 - April 8, 2024

Our beloved mom, grandma and Grammy, passed from her earthly life into her heavenly home on April 8, 2024.

Geretta Howell Quinn was born Nov. 4th, 1934 in Purdy, Ark. She was married to J.B. Quinn Dec. 26th, 1952 and made their home in Stroud, OK, until they moved to Ponca City in 1965. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before his death in 2003. She was and remained a member of Assembly of God church since 1965. She and J.B. especially enjoyed participating in the church senior activities. Geretta was a homemaker and spent many hours babysitting and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Davis and husband Bruce of Big Cabin, OK., and Angela Quinn of Ponca City. Three grandchildren, Jeff Spaulding of Ponca City, Kristen Davis of Bartlesville and Brad Davis and wife Kayla of Pryor, OK. She was Grammy to four great-grandchildren Malachi, Alexis, Kennedy and Benton all of Pryor, two nieces, Debbie Kummers and husband Kelly of Texas and Cindy Garcia of Calif. She had many cousins who were special to her including a double cousin Wilbert Howell, Jr. and wife Lana of Huntsville, Ark. their son Scott of Huntsville and Dennis and wife Angel and three children of East Wenatchee, Wash.

Geretta was blessed to have many good friends throughout her life that she loved dearly as family and friends were very important to her. She was a prayer warrior and prayed daily for each person on her prayer list. When her friends began to pass away she would add their children and grandchildren to her list also since their mothers could no longer pray for them. She hoped that her friends would do the same for her. As Geretta became less able to do household chores, she used her time to pray for her growing list.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband J.B., brother Jerry and his wife Donna. A viewing will be Thursday, April 11 from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Her funeral service will be 2pm, April 12, 2024 at Ponca City Assembly. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Ponca City Assembly building fund.
