Dawn Pruitt entered her Heavenly rest on May 19, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends.

Dewana Dawn Pruitt was born to Donald R. and Cloma A. Goldman on July 17, 1957, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She grew up in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School. She met the love of her life, Terry D. Pruitt and on October 11, 1975 they were married. She worked for a number of years with a brokerage firm as a Brokers Assistant. Dawn strived to help people and improve her community, and she blessed many organizations with her leadership throughout her life. She was PTA president, a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts, a Campfire Girl leader and an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Rho for a number of years. She worked with the Festival of Lights and the Food pantry, as well as working fundraisers for March of Dimes, Heart Walk, and Breast Cancer Awareness. Beyond serving her community, she loved being creative in her home: making gingerbread houses, carving pumpkins, scrapbooking and photography, doing pumpkin patches and Breakfasts with Santa. Dawn had a knack for finding just that right gift for those she loved, and shared her kindness with everyone she met. She had a heart for animals and loved playing with her dogs. Her true passion, however, was being a mom and Nana. Time spent with her family was always time well spent, as exemplified by her favorite book that she would read to her grandkids: “Guess How Much I Love You.”

Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Donald Richard Goldman and loving sister, Rebecca Gay Goldman Walker. Dawn was also preceded in death by her grandparents.

Dawn is survived by her loving husband, Terry, her children, Korey Pruitt and wife Casey, Lori Miner and husband Steven, Lindsey Green and husband Jason, her grandchildren, Brooke Pruitt, Maddyson Miner, Brennen Green, Hannah Green and Lexi Green as well as by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, brother and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. She is also survived by her three best friend shopping buddies, Debbie, Bambi and Jan and their families.

A service to gratefully remember Dawn’s life will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 2:00 pm at the Carolyn Renfro Event Center, 445 N. Fairview in Ponca City, with Rev. Larry Nigh officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dawn’s name to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory. Condolences may be made at www.troutfuneralhome.com
