Joe Lynn Presson Joe Lynn Presson, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Thursday
morning, October 2, 2008 at the Integris Blackwell Regional Hospital. He was 72.

Joe was born November 25, 1935 in Ponca City, the son of Charles Presson and
Imogene (Strouse) Presson. He was a 1954 graduate of Ponca City High School. Joe
entered the United States Army on November 18, 1954 and was stationed in Alaska
during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged from the Army on November 18,
1957. He was married to Janice Baker on February 7, 1959 in Ponca City. The
couple had previously lived in Guymon, Oklahoma where they operated a freight
dock service that served Lee Way, Navajo, Joe Hodge and Roadway truck lines.
They also operated a truck wash, the APCO service station and local skating
rink. Joe was also a longtime truck driver, having driven for Hofferber Truck
Lines, Stuards Trucking, Glass Trucking, Conoco, ETS, Thorn Apple Valley and
Tyson before his retirement in 2003. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the
American Legion. His enjoyments included fishing, hunting, his grandchildren and
watching old western movies.
He is survived by his wife, Janice, of the home; four children, Kathryn Lynn
Hurst and husband, Roy Lee Hurst Jr., of Ponca City, Chris Presson, and fiancée,
Nancy Moore, Eagle, Michigan, Bill Presson and wife, Shawna, Newkirk, Oklahoma,
and Kim McHenry and fiancée, Terry Zimmerman, Ponca City; two brothers, Robert
Presson and wife, Joanne, Jamestown, California and Roger Dan Presson and wife,
Linda, Mena, Arkansas; one sister, Charlene Hightower and husband, Alan, Bella
Vista, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, Jeanie Miller, Krystal Jezisek, Courtney
Hurst, Chance Presson, Cody Presson, Chase Hoyt, Kaytlin Hoyt, Taylor Presson,
Trevor Presson, McKenzie Presson, and Chanel McHenry; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Terry Joe Presson; two
brothers, C.A. Presson and Raymond Presson.
Graveside services will be held at the Ponca City I.O.O.F. Cemetery at 10 a.m.
Saturday, October 4, 2008 with Pastor John Waterloo of the Central Baptist
Church presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Casket bearers will be Chris Presson, Bill Presson, Chance Presson, Cody Presson,
Chase Hoyt and Trevor Presson.
