Twila Powell passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at her home in Ponca City. She was 86 years old. A funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Albright United Methodist Church with Reverend April Coats officiating. Following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City. Casketbearers will be: grandsons, Shane Wilson and Daniel Powell, nephews, Brandon Watkins, Bradley Watkins, Justin Ailey, and Garry Kendle.

Friends and family may pay their respects at Trout Funeral Home on Saturday, July 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 8th from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory in Ponca City.

Twila Dimples Powell was born in Marlow, Oklahoma on November 2, 1931 to her parents, Charles Vernon Thompson and Flossie Thelma (Graham) Thompson. She graduated from Ponca City High School. She married the love of her life, Richard Lee Powell, on October 7, 1949 in Ponca City. Twila was a homemaker and taught Sunday School class at Albright United Methodist Church.

Twila is survived by her daughter, Cindy Wilson and husband Mark of Ponca City, son, Steve Powell and wife Susie of Marland, granddaughter, Michelle Driver and husband Drew and their children, Rylan and Hayden, grandson, Shane Wilson and wife Kara and their children, Tanner and Ellie, grandson, Daniel Powell and wife Michelle and their children, Kyrsten and Tyler, sisters, Darlene Reaves of Broken Arrow, Mary Jo Ailey of Milfay, and Judy Watkins of Cushing, and brother, Charles Thompson of Gillette, Wyoming.

Twila was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, David Lee Powell, and a granddaughter, Amy Dawn Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Twila's honor may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 W. 44th Street, Suite 609, New York, NY 10036.
