The funeral for Loretta Jeannette Rose-Pease, 80, of Enid, will
be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Wiggs will
officiate. Burial will be 3 p.m. in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Ponca City. Arrangements
are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
She was born Jan. 20, 1927, in Hunter to Arthur J. and Rose Lee Larimer Rose and
died Friday, May 25, 2007, in St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Enid.
She grew up on a farm and attended a one-room country school and then graduated
from Lamont High School. She worked on the family farm. She attended Northern
Oklahoma College, Phillips University and took many correspondence courses. She
married James E. Pease in 1972 in Chickasha. They operated a heavy equipment
business. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, participated in
Methodist Women’s Circle and taught kindergarten Sunday school class for several
years. She was a life member of Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary. She
was a member of many historical societies in Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma.
Surviving are her husband James Pease; son, Dennis McAlister of Cordell;
daughter, Ella Olivia Moore of Edmond; nine grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research
Foundation, diabetes division.
