February 24, 1934 - August 16, 2024

Louis Carl Payne, Sr, "Half-Pint"/"Louie", long-time resident of Ponca City, OK, went to his Heavenly Home on August 16, 2024, at 12:27 pm, surrounded by his family at his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was 90 years old. Viewing with the family present will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Trout Funeral Home. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 23, 2024, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City. Those unable to attend the Funeral Ceremony, may attend virtually on the Trout Funeral Home website, www.troutfuneralhome.com and click on the live-stream or toolbar icon on the top right corner after 9:45 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Louis was born on February 24th, 1934, in Faye, OK; the son of B Edna Smith and Jethro Payne and raised by his Step Dad Leroy Carnes Sr . He grew up in the Watonga area and attended school there. In 1955, he married Pearlie Mae Jones. In 1962, they moved the family to Ponca City, OK. He later married Delores Davis. Louis was employed at Jack Bowker and Smith and G for many years and retired from Conoco in 1985. After retiring, he opened his own detail and small mechanic shop called Dad D's Detail in Ponca City, Oklahoma. His passion was fishing with his many friends, pulling pranks on family and friends and working on cars.

Louis is survived by: five daughters, LaDonna Hollins (Charles), Deanna Parker (Anthony), and Cherri Green, of Oklahoma City, OK, Johnna Mae LeClair and Ethel Payne of Ponca City, OK; Four sons, Louis Payne, Jr., Stacey Payne, and Dewayne Payne of Ponca City, OK, and Johnnie Jones, Jr. of Clinton, OK; sister, Oweeta Mae Carnes of Oklahoma City, OK. He also leaves to cherish his memory, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family members, and friends.

Louis was preceded in death by: his parents, both wives and brothers Charles "Sonny Boy" Payne, Leroy Carnes Jr.; sisters, Nettie Fisher, Ethel Carnes-Coburn and significant other Juanita Delodge Payne; sons, Jerry Payne, Baby Boy Payne; granddaughters, Alisha Marie Payne and Brittany Adams; and great-grandson Issac Lee Ray Overland.

Pallbearers will be Jordon Cameron, Anthony Billops, Charles Jordan, Antonio Cox and honorary pallbearer, Gary Thompson.
