Esther Renae Orr, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday January, 12, 2017 at the OU Medical center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she was 47. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Hartford Ave. Church of Christ, 1905 Joe St. Officiating services will be Don Huddleston of Ponca City, Oklahoma. Burial will the follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Family Luncheon will be provided in the Fellowship Center at Hartford Ave. Church of Christ at 11:30 a.m. prior to the services on January 19, 2017.
Renae was born on February 24, 1969 to Charles and Morene Gooch in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She walked 30 years of marriage with Michael Orr, whom she married on August 16, 1986 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Mike and Renae Orr made their home in Ponca City, Oklahoma with their daughter Cari Orr. Renae earned her Associate Degree of Nursing in 1991 at Northern Oklahoma College. She went on to earn her Bachelor Degree of Science in Nursing at Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 2009; and completed her education with a dual Masters degree in Nursing and Education. She was employed at Pioneer Technology Center as a Medical Assistant Instructor, in which she was very passionate about her students. Renae also was involved in the leadership of HOSA organization for Pioneer Technology Center.
Renae began her nursing career in 1991, working in numerous areas of health care, touching many lives as a servant taking care of people as a servant of God. Providing her special way of comfort in Labor and Delivery at St. Josephs, Mental Health at Bass Integris, at the Kay County Health Dept., Geriatrics as MDS Coordinator at Ponca City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Case Manager at Sterling Housing, and finally completing her servitude teaching at Pioneer Technology Center.
Renae continued her work until becoming ill and battling cancer. Her battle with cancer began in 2004, and the cancer went into remission. In 2013 the second battle with cancer which was thought to be in remission until 2016. Her third battle with cancer ending in 2017. Throughout this battle never losing faith in her Lord, and always relied on his will. Renae enjoyed taking photos, going to the lake, taking trips, sitting in the sun, laughing, and going on adventures with her best friend and husband of 30 years. She was very passionate about her daughter, Cari, and her granddaughter, Cambree. Renae’s main goal was to make sure all the people in her life, that she loved, would walk with Christ on this earth, and be with her in Heaven. She was a wonderful wife, mother, nana, daughter, sister, and aunt.
She is survived by her husband Mike, whom she loved so very much and lead to Christ; one daughter Cari, who was the light of her life; and her granddaughter Cambree. Mother: Morene Gooch; Sisters: Michaelina Murphy and her husband Mike; Priscilla Beathard and her husband Shane; Rose Wood and her husband Ron. Nieces: Kristy Smith, Mandy Gill, Tiffany Shoptese, Julie Swanson, Amber Solee, Vallery Robert. Nephews: Brandon Swanson, Dane “Chuck” Beathard, Cameron “Camshaft” Beathard, and Justin “JIB” Beathard, Joe Wood and numerous great nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her dad Charles Michael Gooch and one niece Ashlee Lorene Solee.
Casket bearers will be Brandon Swanson, Dane Beathard, Cameron Beathard, Justin Beathard, Trent Shoptese, and Mike Murphy.
The family will greet friends at Trout Funeral Home on Wednesday January 18, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
