September 3, 1931 - June 3, 2001

Wanda L. Morgan, longtime Ponca City resident, died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was 69.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 7, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Trout Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Armstrong, rector of Grace Episcopal Church, officiating. Entombment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Wanda was born Sept. 3, 1931, in Bartlesville. She grew up in Bartlesville on a farm that bordered the east side of the Wollaroc museum and graduated from high school there. Wanda came to Ponca City over 30 years ago and on Dec. 11, 1974, she and Danny J. Morgan were married in Las Vegas. She served her family as a devoted homemaker and was a great wife.

Wanda enjoyed traveling, history, birds and flowers. She enjoyed nothing more than resting on her patio at the end of the day and watching the humming birds.

She is survived by her husband, Danny of the home; a daughter, Linda Johnston of Ponca City; a sister, Joyce Akers and her husband, Jack, of Alva; and two brothers, Hugh Heady of Kansas City, Mo., and Charles Wittenmyer of Cleveland, Okla. Additional survivors include four grandchildren, Mandy Holder, Leta Holder, Devon Johnston and Megan Johnston. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed D. Bryant and Dora Bryant-Wittenmyer, three sisters, Belva Starry, Omie Solomon, and Betty Douglas, and a brother, Benton Bryant.

Honorary casket bearers will be Jon Kennedy, Jimmy Walker, Don Lampe, Darrell Thompson, Jack Akers, Brad Irons, Jim Simunek and Ted Haun.
