Lavera Middlebusher
May 1, 1929 - October 4, 2023

Lavera Middlebusher, 94, beloved Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, & great, great grandmother. and sister, was called to her eternal resting place on October 4, 2023. She entered this world on May 1, 1929, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, born to Rora Reese and Marguerite Berry Reese.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023, at Grace Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gary Wilburn, officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening, October 12, 2023, at Grace Memorial Chapel from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family in attendance to receive friends and relatives from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Lavera attended Synecca Indian Boarding school starting in the third grade. She transferred to Chilocco school in the 9th grade graduating in 1946, She met the love of her life Paul L. Middlebusher and they were married October 16, 1947, in Emporia, KS, making their home in Ponca City, OK. Lavera enjoyed gardening, baking, working on the farm, raising cattle and pigs, canning fruits and vegetables, China painting, volunteering at the Opportunity Center, spending time with her family and raking leaves in her yard. Lavera was a past member of the Mother's Club.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Terry Middlebusher of Ponca City, OK, two daughters Jana Rinehart of Ponca City, OK , and Lana Schilling and husband Marvin of Edwards, Colorado, also surviving are her grandchildren; Mark McLain and wife Angela of Carbondale, CO, Tracy Rinehart and Carol Brokaw, Kristi Anderson and Husband Troy, Melissa King and, Lacy Barnes all of Ponca City, OK, great grandchildren: Josie McLain, Collin Rinehart, Carter Rinehart, Cooper Anderson, Carson Anderson, Bailey King, Morgan King, Reese King, Raelyn McCallick, Isabella Barnes, Ethan Roles, and Elliott Roles, as well as six great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul in 1986, son-in-law Everett Rinehart, daughter-in-law, Marilyn Middlebusher, grandson, Rod King, four brothers and three sisters, and several fur babies.

Special thanks to Humanity Hospice nurses, Mitch Bradley and Beth Pruett and their aides for their excellent care for the last three years. In Lieu of flowers the family has asked donations be made to Humanity Hospice.
