Charline Mae Lane passed away on July 25, 2019 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. After a long battle with cancer, she is finally at rest and reunited with her son Allen, husband LeRoy, and mom Goldena.
Charline Mae Lee was born on July 17, 1928, in Ponca City to Goldena Olive Hills and William Ernest Lee. She grew up with two wonderful half-brothers, Arthur Lee and Donald Joe, and attended Ponca City High School. In 1946, she met LeRoy Edward Lane and they were married a year later. The delights of her life, Richard Carlson and Marvin Allen were born soon after. She raised her family in Ponca City, the place she would call home her whole life.
Charline worked for Cobb Pontiac and Harold Kanady as an office manager. She loved to go dancing and led the family as members of the Ponca City Playhouse, where they put on community plays. They were also active members of the CB Radio Club and talked to people as far as Australia. A long-time animal lover, she became the official neighborhood cat lady and took in many strays over the years. She loved her family and was so excited to become a Great Grandmother in 2010. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, her husband LeRoy and her son Marvin Allen. She is survived by her son Richard, his wife Cecilia (Oklahoma City), granddaughter Sara Cristina, her husband Peter, and her great-grandson William Lane (Dallas, TX).
A memorial service will be held 11 am Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City, OK. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Ponca City Humane Society in her name.
