Vetta S. Klinger, 93, of Ponca City, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 in Blackwell, OK.
Vetta was born on January 12, 1920 on her parent's dairy farm in Ponca City, Osage County, Oklahoma to Emil and Sadie (Lucksted) Anderson. Vetta graduated from Burbank High School. She was a clerk for a number of years at Ben Franklin and when those stores closed, she went to work at House of Fabrics. She and Leo Klinger were married on July 2, 1940 in Ponca City. He passed away on February 29, 1988. Vetta loved family and friends and looked for any reason to bring family to her house to feed and have a good time. She loved to garden, can and bake.
Vetta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-Don Klinger and daughter-Carolyn Sue. Brothers; Raymond, Marvin and Harry. Sisters; Sylvia, Elsie, Ruth and Emily.
Vetta is survived by her son and his wife; Jerry and Susan Klinger of Ponca City, 8 Grandchildren; Donnie, Brandy, Jimmy Brad, John, Justin, Jeromy, Karen and Sarah. 9 Great Grandchildren.
Family will receive friend at Grace Memorial Chapel on Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Image Hospice, 611 E. Hartford, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ken Newport officiating. Burial will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Ponca City. Casket bearers will be Donnie Klinger, Kanten Klinger, Hadley Klinger, Jeromy Klinger, John Huff, Justin Huff, Alex Myatt and Fred Kleinmann.
