Lois was born May 18, 1922 in Drumright, Oklahoma, the daughter of Morgan L.
Shannon and Dona Mae (Henry) Shannon. She attended the schools in the Avant
and Wolco area. She was married to Cecil Everett Keeler on August 29, 1945
in Winfield, Kansas. Lois was a homemaker that had enjoyed embroidery work,
crossword puzzles, participating in a good game of pitch, riding in the
truck with her husband, and taking care of her family. She most recently
enjoyed attending the church services at the Ponca City Nursing Center.
She is survived by her four children, Gary Keeler, Connie Smith and husband,
Doug, and Donna Keeler and her companion, Bobby Boren, all of Ponca City,
and Cletus Keeler and wife, Beth, of Wichita, Kansas; one sister, Mary
Frances “Jym” Haskins, Moore, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; 19 great
grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Gloria
Taylor; one grandson, Danny Taylor; one great grandson, Tyler Keeler; one
daughter-in-law, Verline Keeler; one sister, Retha Hunt; three brother,
Jack, Cletus and Dal Shannon.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2008 in
the Hope Chapel of the Ponca City I.O.O.F. Cemetery with the Rev. Roy
Edwards presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial
Chapel. Honorary casket bearers will be her grandchildren and staff and
friends at the Ponca City Nursing Center.

Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
