Eugene L. Jennings, age 87, of Ponca City, Oklahoma passed away February 1, 2022, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Gene was born on February 19, 1934 in Springfield, Missouri to Albert and Clara (Chaney) Jennings. Gene was united in marriage to Mary Lou Kraus on November 5, 1952 in Harrison, Arkansas. To this union was born one daughter, Kristi. He owned and operated Jennings Auto Service for 30 years. Gene was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially noodling. He took pride in growing a big beautiful garden and once won the biggest tomato contest. Gene always said, "Flowers are pretty, but you can't eat them." He was known to be a little ornery at times, but he cherished those he called family and friends.
Survivors include: his daughter, Kristi Jennings and her partner, Mike Robinson of Ponca City, OK; grandsons, Trevor Craft and his fiancé, Ashley O'Hara and Scott Oatman and his wife, Jessica of Lago Vista, TX; great granddaughters, Josie, Harper, and Leona Oatman of Lago Vista, TX; sister, Clydonna Radmacher of Ponca City, OK; and special dog named Putter.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Jennings; his parents, Albert and Clara Jennings; sisters, Ida Mae and Lavonna; and brothers, Kenneth and Paul.
