George G. Hoppes, 95¸of Ponca City, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Ponca City Medical Center. 
George was born on November 28, 1917 in Eaton, IN to Evert and Marie Hoppes. 

George was parts manager for Metropolitan Water District in Southern California, he tried to enlist in military but was told he was too valuable working at Boeing as a mechanic. George and Sue were married on June 16, 1962.. They moved to Ponca City in 1985 coming from California. George was a member of Northeast Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, participated in the nursing home ministry and went on mission trips. He also volunteered at RSVP and delivered Meals on Wheels. George made beautiful stained glass windows. And he was always ready to help anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters. 

George is survived by his wife-Sue, 2 daughters; Marilyn Beal of Ventura, CA and Carolyn Trebur of Walnut Creek, CA. 4 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Sisters-In-Law; Twyla Simon of OKC, Lucille Symon of South Carolina and Dorothy Hillhouse of Ponca City. Numerous Nieces and nephews 

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2013 at Northeast Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery
