Margaret Beth Headrick, lifelong resident of Ponca City, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011 at her home. She was 76 years of age.

Margaret was born October 3, 1934 in Ponca City, the daughter of Cyrol Bennett and Dorothy Margaret Friedley Bennett. She was a 1952 graduate of Ponca City High School and played clarinet in the PoHi marching band. She was employed 31 years with Conoco, working from 1962 until 1993, at which time she retired as a Data Control Clerk. She was a member of the National 600 Bowling Club and the Oklahoma Trailblazers Association. She had won Blue Ribbon at the Oklahoma State Fair for her ceramic work. In 1970 she and her daughter won the motherdaughter doubles bowling tournaments at the local, regional and state levels. She won the 1972 Ladies State Golf Tournament held at the Ponca City Country Club. Margaret loved westerns, especially John Wayne movies, trail riding, oil painting, ceramics, bowling and golf.

She is survived by two children, Lee Headrick and wife, Cindy, and Michele Bowe, all of Ponca City one brother, Bert Bennett, Prague, Oklahoma three grandchildren, David Headrick and wife, Melissa, Lori Ann Breger and Dawn Negley four great grandchildren, Lorrie Dawn and Mercadez Headrick, and Rebecca and Megan Breger nieces and nephews, Janet MacFarland, Lisa McKnight, David Bennett, Joanne Jones and Linda Hare. She was preceded in death by her parents one son, Michael Don Headrick one sister, Marie Hare and one infant grandson, Dennis Jerome Wood.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011 at Eastern Heights Christian Church with Mark Berry presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Ponca City I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
