It is with great sadness that the family of Bonita (Bobbi) Ann Tomlinson, age 67 years, resident of Guthrie, OK, announces that she has returned to be with her Lord on Friday, July 12, 2019 at home.

Daughter of Maxwell and Hazel (Weiderman) Tomlinson, Bobbi was born on September 20, 1951 in Gloversville, New York. She lived and graduated high school in upstate New York, where she received a full scholarship to the Houston Baptist University Nursing Program. Her education culminating in a Masters in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Houston, Texas.

She married Charles Wayne Emmons on July 19, 1974 in Houston Texas.

She had a deep love for the importance of education; Bobbi had an extensive nursing career, ending after 17 years as a Nursing Instructor at the Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, in 2007. Through out her career, she shaped the education and hearts of hundreds of nurses in this community.

Bobbi loved teaching, whether it was students about the cardiac system or instructing her children on the proper way to cream butter and sugar together for baking. She enjoyed scrapbooking, playing games, reading, and journaling. Bobbi had a special love for animals and contributed to the Humane Society regularly. She also believed in helping people.

Bobbi will be lovingly remembered by her children, Karen (Chris) Emmons Ortiz of Ponca City, Katherine (Rick) Emmons Gragg of Ponca City, David (Becky) Emmons of New Town, North Dakota, Katrina Emmons of Ponca City, Rebecca (Bradley) Emmons Pesicka of Guthrie, and Philip Emmons of Ponca City. Bobbi will also be fondly remembered by her 9 grandchildren: Jacob, Ethan, Robert, Hannah, Samuel, Isabella, Sophia, John and Juan Henry, her sisters, Beverly, Barbara, Cindy, and her brother, Fred. She will also be missed by numerous close friends and family.

Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel (Weiderman) and Maxwell Tomlinson of Albany, New York, her foster parents, George and Virginia Swenson of Utah, and her daughter, Susan Emmons of Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Viewing and visitation with family will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Trout Funeral Home, 505 West Grand, Ponca City, OK. A funeral ceremony for Bobbi will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 2408 East Hartford, Ponca City followed by burial at the Odd Fellows Cemetery at 1206 South Waverly, Ponca City.
