Ponca City I O O F Cemetery

Farrel Duane Eaton
March 29, 1932 - February 8, 2025

Farrel Duane Eaton, 92, of Bressie Community, Oklahoma, died in Ponca City, Oklahoma on February 8, 2025.

Farrel was born in Bressie Community in 1932 to John Rueben and Bertha E (Bunch) Eaton. While growing up, he would ride his horse to the one-room Bressie Schoolhouse. He lived and worked his entire life on the family farm. Farrel married Lawana (Polly) L. Edmonds on December 1, 1951 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. To this union are two children, Johnny Farrel and Judy Lin.

Throughout his life, he farmed, ranched, ran dairies, and raised world champion quarter horses. He loved country and western music, singing and playing on the local radio station in the 1950s. He and Polly loved to travel and took many road trips across the U.S., including Alaska. He enjoyed studying the scriptures and taught Bible studies and classes at home and in church. He enjoyed having his grandchildren close on the family farm, teaching them to drive tractors and taking them on birthday trips.

Farrel was a Godly man who loved his Savior and was known as a prayer warrior. He was passionate that the Gospel reach the ends of the earth and did not shy from sharing his faith with those he met. He was an encourager, always making sure that his family knew that he loved them and was proud of them. Farrel was highly respected and well loved by many in the Marland community and the surrounding areas, serving and volunteering in many capacities during his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife Polly; his parents; older sisters, Ruby Eaton (Baugh) and Ruth Eaton (Noell); and nephew, Ralph Noell.

He is survived by his daughter, Judy (Eaton) Graves and husband, Scott of Marland; son, Johnny Eaton of Marland; grandchildren, Jaci (Graves) Flynt and husband, Casey of Amarillo, Texas, and Steven Graves and wife, Maci of Ponca City; 3 great-grandchildren, Kieran and Ellie Flynt and Stevie Koe Graves; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ferrel's life will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Central Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Family visitation will be at Trout Funeral Home from 5-7 PM on Friday, February 14, 2025. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
