March 22, 1967 - December 31, 2016

David Dwane Duncan of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died Saturday evening, December 31, 2016, at his home in Ponca City at the age of 49 years.

David Dwane Duncan was born on March 22, 1967, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Loren Andrew and Ruby Irene (Sutton) Duncan. He grew up in Kay County attending Blackwell Public Schools and Braman Public Schools. He graduated from Braman High School in 1987. Following his education he began working at the Blackwell Co-op. He married Leisa Gail Crook on August 19, 1990, in Blackwell and he continued working at the co-op. In 1997 they moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked at a General Motors assembly plant on the assembly line and later as an inspector. In 2007 they moved to Ponca City where he worked in lawn care and landscaping for a year. In 2008 they moved to Blackwell where he returned to Blackwell Co-op until ill health forced his retirement. In 2016 they returned to Ponca City to make their home. He was a member of the American Cancer Society and ASPCA. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing, camping and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Leisa Duncan of Ponca City; three daughters, Megan Barton of Atlanta, Georgia, Amanda Duncan of Ponca City, and Ashley Duncan of Blackwell; two sons, Daniel Duncan of Blackwell and Derrick Duncan of Ponca City; a god-son, Jeremy Swain of Wichita, Kansas; four brothers, Kenny Duncan of Deer Creek, Lonnie Duncan of Blackwell, Warren Duncan of Tonkawa, and Royce Duncan of Newkirk; two sisters, Rhonda Cheshler of Tonkawa and Cindy Gregson of Blackwell; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an uncle, Alfred Sutton.

Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 5th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Smith of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Ponca City.

Casketbearers will be Naison Barton, Daniel Duncan, Cameron Crow, Jeremy Swain, Mike McCulloch, Virgil Crook, Royce Duncan and Warren Duncan.
