July 19, 1952 - November 24, 2020

Michael Neal Dove, former resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at O.U. Medical Center in Edmond. He was 68.

The service will be held Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. John Lee officiating. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma . Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Michael was born on July 19, 1952 to Leslie Dove and Alma (Humphrey) Dove in Ponca City, OK. He was raised in Ponca City, OK. Mike married his soul mate Kathy Sherbon on February 12, 1972. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with an accounting Degree in 1978 he was always proud to be an OSU Cowboy, upon graduating Mike went to work for Conoco in the accounting department. Mike was able to work for Conoco for 30 years and work his way to the top as director of payroll, an accomplishment he and his family was always very proud of.

His passion was anything that involved his family, friends and the outdoors. Some of his favorite activities included boating, motorcycle trips, riding four-wheelers, camping and anything with his Family. Mike had a zest for life and adventure, if it was fun he was happy to be involved. Another passion Mike had was to help others, he was an incredibly giving man. His interest was to always ensure all those around him were having fun and had everything they need. He would have gladly put his own agenda aside to help out a complete stranger, which he had done more than once. Later in life his greatest joy was to spend time with his granddaughters, playing board games, watching funny videos or just getting bossed around by two little girls, Mike was in his happy place with those girls.

He is survived by Wife, Kathy Dove, son Brian and wife Patton granddaughter Libby, daughter Jennifer and husband Clint, granddaughter Claire. His brother Randy and his wife Janice, and sister Leslyn and mother in law Pauline Sherbon and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Camron Sherbon, Ethan Zaitshik, Kyle Filson, Clint Filson, Ben Thompson and Jason Bailey, honorary bearers will be John Lee, John Kana, Tim Craft and Mike Filson.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ponca City Humane Society.
