Debra Jill Dester, 63, of Stillwater, OK, left this earth on February 13, 2021. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel, with Shane Rackley officiating. Burial will take place at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Ponca City. Face masks are required. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Jill was born on July 23, 1957, in Ponca City, to Kenneth C. and Joy Lou (Smith) Kestler. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and friends. Jill attended Oklahoma State University on a musical scholarship. Jill was an accomplished violinist and pianist. She gave lessons on both instruments to students and taught using the Suzuki method for violin students. She played piano in various churches over the years. She enjoyed crafting and making things with her hands. She also loved animals and had a heart for strays.
She is survived by: children, Beth Dester, Leah Dester, Erin Wiewel and her husband, John; father, Ken Kestler; sisters, Janet Kestler, Michelle Green, Melissa Kestler; aunt, Rita Henderson; and cousins, Jerry Frost, James Frost, Jason Henderson.
Debra was preceded in death by her mother, and grandparents, Helen and Orville Smith.
