Cherished Mother and Grandmother, Beloved Aunt and Precious Friend
It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Marilyn Coffee the week of August 7th, 2017. Marilyn lived in Hayward, California but was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on January 10th, 1945.
She is much loved by family and friends, had lived overseas in the 1970's in Sierra Leone, West Africa, worked as a counselor and a social worker and she taught at Fourah Bay College in Freetown, Sierra Leone and had traveled to Liberia during her University studies (at the University of Oklahoma). Marilyn loved to write poetry, talk with friends on the phone and treasure moments with loved ones.
She leaves behind her daughter, Lashea Howard-Clinton, her grandson Sidney, her twin brother, Marion Coffee, her nieces and nephews, Sharon and Matthew Lopes, Donald, Alfred, Barbara Jones, Roxanne, Delia and Elias Salem and many other great nieces and nephews and long time and even newer friends.
We thank the Lord for sharing her kind soul with us, for her smile, her great attitude and her positive approach to life no matter the circumstances.
She will be buried in Ponca City, Oklahoma near her mother and grandparents on Saturday, August 26th, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery with services through Grace Memorial Chapel also in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
May her soul rest in perfect peace and thank you to all those who she loved, who touched her life and who where there for her over the years. We love you too! Your kindness and goodwill is so much appreciated. For those who may wish to send flowers, they may be sent directly to the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City, OK
